I find myself doing the majority of my photography sessions outdoors, but I am always happy to get into the studio in Killingworth, CT (especially now that it's getting colder) for sessions. Studio 860 Photography CT family photographer was recently contacted to photograph the most adorable family of three children. We knew we wanted to do a slight Christmas theme for the session but wanted to keep it simple. I often lean more towards the simpler backgrounds and minimal props as I like the focus to be on the subjects that are being photographed. A grey background is one of my favorites, actually anything neutral is a favorite of mine. We also hung some ornaments from the ceiling but that was all for props, it was all about the kids.
We started with some group shots and then moved onto the individuals. One thing about photography is that I really get to see the different personalities of people through my lens. Some people are outgoing and others are shy, some people love to be the center of attention and others are happy to just sit back and observe. These three kids were a little of everything, the youngest was so happy to be in front of the camera and couldn't smile enough, the middle child (I was a middle child and middle children rule) was a bit older and although not as silly still really liked being in front of the lens. The oldest child was a boy, and boys are always a bit uncomfortable getting their pictures taken, but he did fantastic and took great direction.
It was a successful in studio session for Studio 860 Photography and I am looking forward to many more as the winter months are coming up soon (too soon if you ask me).
