Normally you'll find my images with little props and a plain backdrop, but for Christmas this year I did invest in one holiday backdrop to test it out and clients loved it. My first photosession with it was in the Studio 860 Photography studio in Killingworth, CT. I had it all set up when the clients, two elementary aged kids, showed up. I added lights, ornaments, and fake snow. These kids loved the fake snow, they loved to jump in it, throw it, and lucky for me they loved to pose in it too.
This was a fun session with a brother and sister, just the kids. We did poses of them together and separate and then together again. I had asked the Mom prior to the shoot to have them each bring a little love or something favorite along with them. They each brought along a favorite stuffed animal and took turns including them in some of their poses. I think bringing along a little something from home (a comfort) helps kids relax and having a few images of them with is something you and they will look back on in the years ahead and have fond memories of.
