I am so excited to not only announce the official name change of my photography business (formally known as Kimberly T Photography) but also that I have leased a studio space in Killingworth, Connecticut.  After my second child was born I studied photography through the New York Institute of Photography.  A perfect way to learn photography for a busy mother of two.  I was able to study at my own pace and mail (yes it was the days of snail mail) my assignments in.  Once I completed my program I spent hours and hours practicing, it helped that I had two little kids home that loved to ham it up in front of the camera.  In 2005 I officially started my photography business and haven't looked back since.  It's now year 11 and my once little kids are now growing up and I thought it seemed like the perfect time to take the next step (and fulfill my next dream) and lease a studio space.  Having a dedicated space gives me so much more freedom and options as a photographer.  In the last few years I've only been shooting outdoors, which is still my favorite, but due to the never-ending New England winters my shooting season seems to get shorter and shorter each year.  With a studio space I can shoot year round without having to take the lighting (if you've ever seen the size of my lights you'd understand why it's such a pain to transport) and backdrops out of storage every time I want to do a photoshoot.  I've already started ordering new backdrops (the options are endless) and can't wait to get everything set up in it's new permanent home.

I will start renovations and design of the new studio the second half of April and will hopefully open my doors for business by early May.  I'll try to post some images along the way of my progress (who doesn't love a good before and after).

Here is the before, stay tuned for the after....
