Two adults, one teen, one tween, one 3 year old, one baby, and a perfect night in the park, what more could you ask for. I met the family at Harkness State Park in Waterford, CT for their family photographs. I really have been getting lucky with the weather lately (I'm am sure I'll be regretting those words soon), it was another beautiful night. The park we met at is a great location for family portraits, it not only is a large park with lots of trees, it also has a beach! The family is from Rhode Island and made the drive to Connecticut for their Studio 860 Photography family photography session.
We started with family poses and then moved onto the older girls. They were lots of fun and it didn't take much to get them to smile and to get some genuine laughs from them. We then moved closer to the beach, blocking the way of fellow beachgoers for a few minutes as we took advantage of the very cool boardwalk they have leading to the sand. As the sun dipped lower we took advantage of all the colors the sky produced and once again finished our session with some jumping silhouette shots (everyone's favorite).
It was a bit of a challenging session with all of the age differences and the wind on the beach, but this family rocked it and got some amazing images to hang on their walls.
Connecticut family photographer Studio 860 Photography is looking forward to photographing many more families throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island.
